The capacity of the Metallurgical 220 kV substation is 250 MVA. The power supply center provides electricity to consumers of the Proletarian district of Tula and the Kireevsky district of the Tula region. The substation feeds the Tulachermet-Stal enterprise, the largest foundry and rolling mill in the European part of Russia, created on the basis of converter technology, and one of the most modern metallurgical plants in the country.
We have performed the following types of work:
In 2023, a complex of commissioning works will be carried out at the Severnaya and Metallurgicheskaya substations, which made it possible to put 4 220 kV overhead lines into operation.:
— Severnaya – RP3 I and II chain;
— Metallurgical — RP3 I and II chain.
The complex consisted of the following works:
— installation of 4 cabinets of 220 kV overhead heating line at the Severnaya substation;
— modernization of the automated control system at the Severnaya substation;
— installation of 4 cabinets of 220 kV overhead heating lines at the Metallurgicheskaya substation;
— modernization of the SSPI system at the Metallurgicheskaya substation;
— setting up secondary switching circuits on two substations;
— integration of a complex of new MP protections based on EKRA terminals into the existing systems of both PS.
The commissioning of these overhead lines made it possible to provide power to a new distribution substation (RP-3) on the territory of the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Combine (NLMK), which was one of the key stages in the implementation of NLMK’s large program to modernize and improve the reliability of power supply to a strategic ferrous metallurgy facility.
In 2024, a complex of commissioning works was completed at the Metallurgicheskaya substation and Lipetsk CHPP-2, which made it possible to prepare for the commissioning of the Lipetsk CHPP-2 – Metallurgical II chain 110 kV overhead line.
The complex consisted of the following works:
— installation of 2 DFZ cabinets + 1 KSZ cabinet, 110 kV overhead line at Metallurgicheskaya substation;
— modernization of the SSPI system at the Metallurgicheskaya substation;
— commissioning of 2 cabinets of the DFZ + 1 cabinet of the KSS, 110 kV overhead line at the Lipetsk CHPP-2;
— modernization of the SOTI ASSO system at the Lipetsk CHPP-2 substation;
— adjustment of RF-path equipment (HF, AF, CS, HF-post) on both PS;
— setting up secondary switching circuits on two substations;
— integration of a complex of new MP protections based on EKRA terminals into the existing systems of both PS.
With the commissioning of this overhead line, the NLMK power supply modernization program related to the construction of RP-3 (a branch of PJSC ROSSETI – Verkhne-Donskoye TPP) will be completed.
