110 kV Yuzhny substation

110 kV Yuzhny substationThe 110 kV Yuzhny substation is located in the village of Yuzhny, Chaunsky district, within the Pevek urban district of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug — about 580 km from the capital of the district, Anadyr. It was founded within the framework of the Chaun‑Bilibinsky power plant association since 1965.

It is part of the Chaun‑Bilibinsky power plant, designed to receive power from the Chaunskaya CHPP (it has 2 110 kV circuits) and distribute energy further to the Bilibinsk NPP, the Akademik Lomonosov floating NPP and industrial consumers in the region. It is included in a major project for the construction of 110 kV Pevek–Bilibino overhead line. According to the warranty scheme for the beginning of 2023, its capacity is ≈10 MVA (115/38.5/6.6 kV).

The substation was built and operated in the context of the unified Chukotenergo/RusHydro system; reconstruction and capacity enhancement are underway as part of the 110 kV Pevek–Bilibino overhead line project: the first stage (490 km) was completed in 2023, the second (496 km) — installation of poles was completed in May 2024, and the reconstruction of substations is planned to be completed by the end of 2025. «Yuzhny».

At the Yuzhny 110 kV substation, we have completed the commissioning of RPA, SHSN, SHPT, BKTP devices, power equipment at the 110 kV ORU, as well as secondary switching circuits.:110 kV Yuzhny substation

The Pevek–Bilibino project is listed among the key areas of modern electric grid infrastructures of PJSC RusHydro in the Far East. The Russian Ministry of Energy has presented plans for large-scale orography of electric grids, where the Chukotka project occupies a priority place.

An important clarification: in May 2024, all the pillars of the second line were installed, and work is already underway to install equipment at Yuzhny in order to complete the facility in 2025 ahead of schedule.
