Amur GHK continues active construction on the territory Free in the Amur region. The project is being implemented by SIBUR and is one of the largest investment projects in the Russian gas chemical industry.

It is one of the world’s largest ethylene complexes (up to 2.7 million tons per year), comparable in capacity to the world’s leading plants in the United States and Saudi Arabia. It produces polyethylene and polypropylene– raw materials for plastics, packaging, medical equipment and the automotive industry. The complex is connected to the Amur Gas Processing Plant, which provides it with raw materials – ethane fraction, which creates a closed production cycle.
Amur Gas Processing Plant implements advanced waste disposal technologies («Green Chemistry»), for example, a closed water circulation system and the processing of by–products into commercial chemicals. Special attention is paid to reducing the carbon footprint: the company uses new generation catalytic technologies that minimize emissions from ethane cracking. These solutions are in line with global environmental trends and allow the production of polymers at low cost without harming the

environment.
We have performed parameterization work on the equipment of 24 distribution devices of the NKU Pyrolysis project at the AGCC.
The main foundation works for key production facilities have been completed at the AGCC. The installation of bulky equipment has begun. Auxiliary infrastructure facilities are under construction.
The launch of the first stage of the enterprise is planned in 2025-2026. After reaching full capacity, Amur Gas Processing Plant will become an important link in the natural gas processing chain and will provide the domestic market with high-quality polymer materials.
The complex creates more than 3,000 jobs and stimulates the development of infrastructure in the Far East, including new roads and housing for employees. The products are planned to be exported to China and other Asia-Pacific countries, which is facilitated by the proximity to the Power of Siberia and the construction of new logistics terminals. In 2024, the construction of cryogenic storage facilities for ethane, a key raw material, was completed, which will ensure uninterrupted operation even in Siberian winters.
The Amur Gas Processing Plant is part of the Russian Federation’s strategy for the transition from exporting raw materials to deep processing. It will strengthen Russia’s position in the polymer market, reduce dependence on imported plastics, and boost the development of related industries. According to forecasts, after reaching full capacity, the complex will be able to cover up to 10% of global demand for polyethylene. In addition, the project stimulates the development of innovations in the field of environmentally friendly production and sets a precedent for the implementation of similar high-tech projects in other regions of Russia.
